History
Steven Millstein founded The STRO Companies (“STRO”) in 1994 with a bold vision: to transform underperforming commercial real estate into thriving, high-value metro-scale industrial assets.
By 2000, STRO was managing and leasing over 500,000 square feet of small and shallow-bay industrial space in Northern New Jersey. Millstein’s strategy focused on infill locations near dense consumer markets, attracting tenants in essential industries who relied on immediate access to the 20 million residents and $1.7 trillion in purchasing power within a one-mile drive.
STRO’s disciplined, proactive approach fostered unparalleled integrity, agility, and expansion. Coupled with Millstein’s aggressive acquisition strategy, the company tripled its portfolio by procuring last-mile industrial properties in both the Tri-State and Southeast regions.
By 2020, Millstein expanded his focus to legacy and succession, growing the family-owned business and building a vertically integrated team in acquisitions, development, operations, and leasing—positioning STRO as a full-service, end-to-end real estate manager.
